Welcome to Storyteller On The Lake!
  "The Kawartha Lakes Authors' Association" was founded in 2005 by Sheila Jupe and Vic Wilbee. The KLAA has a membership of more than 20 published writers in the Kawartha Lakes region of Ontario, Canada. Most of the members are self-published or have a limited budget for advertising to sell their books. Through combined efforts the KLAA manages to exhibit their books at various locations throughout the LIndsay, Omemee, Fenelon Falls and Bobcaygeon district.

J.A. Aarntzen is proud to be a member of the Kawartha Lakes Authors' Association.

Outlined below are submissions received from the members of the Kawartha Lakes Authors' Association providing some details about themselves and their books.

Vic Wilbee
Vic is a cofounder of the Kawartha Lakes Authors' Association. He has written five books and is currently working on a sixth one. His titles include The Twilight Years which is an anthology of Vic's life; Adventurous Eye Vols. 1, 2 and 3. - a series of short stories that have happened to Vic; West of the Sun - a rags to riches drama following the saga of a Hungarian family that immigrated to Canada in 1920 and from these impoverished roots managed to build a successful enterprise."

Vic's new book titled Vanished, 186 pages in length, is about a young man's struggle with substance abuse. He suffers from memories of an abusive child hood that prevents him from succeding in today's society. Everytime he accomplishes a goal in life he keeps returning to the demons that live within him.

Rev. Janet Stobie
A Child Speaks is a collection of short stories written in the form of monologues by Rev. Janet Stobie. Rev. Jan's stories open the wisdom of the Bible to children and teens as they hear the voices of children in the Bible dealing with today's issues. Everyone, young and old and in between, will enjoy this fresh perspective on the familiar Bible stories.

Janet Stobie is a mother and grandmother as well as an ordained minister serving Dunsford United Church. Storytelling is one of the joys of her ministry. Over the years, Janet's congregations have encouraged her to publish these stories. They speak to the child in all of us.
